Responsibilitys
  • Oversee current business as the lead point of contact with the customer and maintaining the overall customer relationship. This includes establishing life cycle procedures, and thereafter maintaining current business through promoting, selling and securing new CNC machines and accessories.
  • Explore and prospect new business opportunities with assigned customers; promote defined target applications and technologies to potential customers.
  • Respond to proposals for specific customer inquiries.
  • Develop sales plans to introduce products at assigned customers.
  • Track customer performance to what was quoted and be able to defend price increases for volume shortfalls or raw material increases.
  • Work with all departments in competitive designs, processes and practices.
  • Schedule and participate in engineering meetings related to customer requested design changes; initiate visits and meetings with customer personnel to develop and maintain their goodwill and confidence.
  • Negotiate and present selling prices and tooling costs to customer purchasing representatives.
  • Drive and lead the technology evaluation stage of the sales process working as the key technical advisor and product advocate.
  • Differentiate product offerings from competitors by applying a creative, innovative and value-added sales approach to be included in bidding opportunities with objective of securing new business.
  • Support program management responsibilities from conception to launch (this includes any ongoing engineering changes to product design during production).
  • Develop and deliver technical sales presentations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, formal training, reviewing professional publications, establishing and expanding professional networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     
Your ideal background
  • B.S. in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
  • 3+ years of CNC machine tool sales with machine tool builder or distributor 
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills with a high attention to detail
  • Excellent presentation and sales skills
  • Ability to influence and engage at multiple levels within internal and external organizations
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Solid interpersonal, communications and listening skills
  • English language competency - both oral and written
  • Excellent project and planning abilities
  • Able to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Ability/Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Strong drive for teamwork with a customer-oriented approach to projects
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred but not required
  • German and/or Spanish language skills a plus
